Sturgeon Bay residents and businesses use over 500 million gallons of water each year. Water is vital to our community and we are fortunate in Sturgeon Bay to have a high-quality water supply. One of our priorities is protecting this natural resource!
There are five deep wells in Sturgeon Bay reaching down to the Silurian Dolomite aquifer system (limestone formation). Water pumped from those depths comes out nice and cold; about 50 degrees year 'round. The water is treated and tested regularly to ensure Sturgeon Bay residents and businesses continue to receive a safe and plentiful water supply.
Meter Reading & Billing
Similar to reading your electric meter, Sturgeon Bay Utilities collects usage data from your water meter with an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) device. Our data collection devices read your meter from a distance and store that information in a format that is then downloaded into our billing software to help produce your monthly billing statement. You can view your usage history in close to real time at MyAccount.

Spring Fire Hydrant Flushing
Beginning on April 8th, Sturgeon Bay Utilities will be conducting its spring hydrant flushing program between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays, continuing until approximately May10th.
This procedure is necessary to remove sediment build-up from the water mains and to inspect fire hydrants for proper operation.
During the flushing program, residents are advised to check their water for discoloration before doing laundry. Any discoloration of the water is temporary and will clear up shortly. If you have any questions about the flushing program, please contact us at (920) 746-2820.
