2008 Third Annual MEUW Lineman’s Rodeo (10/24/08)

Under a warm blue sky in Stoughton, the third annual MEUW Lineman’s Rodeo was held on Saturday, September 6. Once again, the event was a success.

Eight teams representing eight MEUW communities competed for the title of “Grand Champion” Line Crew. They included:

Hartford
Kaukauna (2 Teams)
Oconomowoc
Shawano
Stoughton
Sturgeon Bay
Wisconsin Rapids/Sun Prairie (Combined Team)

The crews competed in five events to accumulate a total score. The events were Downed Line Repair, Arrester Changeout, Elbow Installation, Pole Top Rescue, and Obstacle Course. The crew from Sturgeon Bay consisted of Jonathan Diller and Chas Schink. Sturgeon Bay took first place in the Pole Top Rescue with Chas Schink taking an individual top score, 1:52 with zero deductions.
